Trek to Macchu Picchu

The trek to Macchu Picchu is
a 4-day affair, and most--if not all--guided outfits start the trip just
outside of Cusco, near Ollyantaytambo. You don't need to be an athlete
to complete the trip, but you should be in reasonably good physical condition. |
In Cusco there are numerous
tour outfits who will take you on the hike. Most of these tours
include three meals a day, cooked and served in a meal tent. Furthermore,
many of them also provide your tent (double occupancy), which the porters
even set up and take down for you as well. If you choose to,
you can also hire a porter to carry your pack. My recommendation
would be to spend a little time to visit a few of the outfitters and have
them describe their services and fees. |
